Key Tags with Engraving

Key tags identify which key belongs to which lock, which isolation point, and which person. In a lockout/tagout system, that matters because a key you can't trace is a key nobody can safely use. The same applies to fleet keys, facilities keys and any key store where more than one person needs to find the right key quickly.

We offer seven standard types of key tags, each of which can be custom engraved to your own numbering or wording. Sizes, materials and character limits vary by type, so you can match the tag to the space you have and the amount of information you need on it:

• Tag 1, 50mm x 29mm, anodised aluminium, up to 36 characters
• Tag 2, 35mm diameter, plastic, up to 24 characters
• Tag 3, 75mm x 40mm, plastic, up to 36 characters
• Tag 4, 75mm x 35mm, plastic, up to 36 characters
• Tag 5, 102mm x 22mm, plastic, up to 30 characters
• Tag 6, 50mm diameter, plastic, up to 36 characters
• Tag 7, 33mm diameter, heavy duty brass, up to 12 characters

Material is worth thinking about before size. The plastic tags suit most indoor key stores and lockout schemes. Where tags take a harder life, outdoors, in a workshop, or on keys that are handled every day, the metal options last considerably longer. Tag 1 in anodised aluminium carries a full 36 characters, so choose it when you need durability and a long reference. Tag 7 in heavy-duty brass is the most robust in the range, with 12 characters, which suits a plain number or a short code.

Engraving is why most customers choose these over a blank tag. You can engrave sequential numbering, department names, isolation point references, or asset numbers, so the tag stays readable for the life of the key rather than fading like a handwritten label.

Please note that tags are supplied on their own. Keyrings and keys are not included.
